Domaine Courbet
Organic Jura wines from Château-Chalon, crafted by Damien Courbet from organically certified vineyards farmed with biodynamic practices.
Domaine Courbet was founded in 1869 in Nevy-sur-Seille, near the celebrated village of Château-Chalon in the Jura. Today, Damien Courbet farms 9.5 hectares of vineyards across Domblans, Menétru-le-Vignoble and the prestigious Château-Chalon appellation, where he cultivates around 4 hectares of vines.
After gaining experience with Jim Clendenen at Au Bon Climat in California, Olivier Humbrecht in Alsace, Olivier Merlin in the Mâconnais and Nicolas Potel in Burgundy, Damien returned to the family estate in 2003 before taking full responsibility in 2011. He has expanded the domaine, introduced biodynamic practices and modernised the cellar with indigenous yeast fermentations, concrete vessels and minimal additions. The wines are precise, mineral and unmistakably expressive of Jura's limestone terroirs.
