Domaine François Xavier Lambert
Four generations of organic Côtes du Rhône from Jean-François Gras.
The history of Domaine François Xavier Lambert stretches back to 1556, when vineyards in the area belonged to the Princes of Orange. The modern family estate was established in the 1950s by François Xavier Lambert and his wife Elisabeth, who developed vineyards across the lieux-dits of Carbonnières and Paillerouda. Today, the domaine is run by their great-grandson, Jean-François Gras, the fourth generation of the family to farm these vineyards.
Based in the heart of Gigondas, Jean-François farms predominantly Grenache alongside Syrah and Mourvèdre on clay-limestone soils with ancient alluvial deposits. Grapes from each variety and parcel are vinified separately in concrete tanks before blending, preserving the character of each site and variety to produce a Côtes du Rhône of purity, balance and regional character.
