Domaine Guillemot-Michel
Old-vine Chardonnay from Viré-Clessé, farmed biodynamically since 1991.
Domaine Guillemot-Michel is a small family-run estate in the hamlet of Quintaine, between Viré and Clessé, at the heart of the Viré-Clessé appellation. Pierrette and Marc Guillemot converted the vineyards to organic farming before becoming early pioneers of biodynamic viticulture in the Mâconnais in 1991. Today, their daughter Sophie and her husband Gautier Roussille manage the domaine, farming 6 hectares of Chardonnay with vines averaging around 60 years of age.
The domaine’s focus is the expression of this unique terroir through their Viré-Clessé Quintaine. Farmed biodynamically for more than three decades, the estate’s wines reflect the purity of Quintaine and the character of its limestone soils.
