Terroir
Composed of schist soils with varying proportions of shale, quartz, sandstone and slate across 22 hectares on the right bank of the Layon.

Thomas and Charlotte Carsin took over Terre de l'Élu in 2008, bringing complementary experience and a shared passion to their domaine in the Layon Valley. Drawn initially by the great Chenin Blanc terroirs of Anjou, they have also found lasting inspiration in the region's reds, including Cabernet Franc, Grolleau and Pineau d'Aunis, producing wines that are expressive, vibrant and full of finesse.

Today, the organically certified estate combines meticulous vineyard work with thoughtful winemaking, including long élevage in tanks, barrels, foudres and amphora for selected cuvées, creating wines that balance purity, texture and a strong sense of place.
